Esse próximo post será sobre a ótica de nossa amiga havaiana Lisa Kori, que está passando 4 meses no Brasil estudando arte eletrônica DIY!

Here is the story, as briefly as I can manage. I attended Cristiano Rosa aka panetone‘s circuit bending workshop, which was part of Ibrasotope’s Experimental Music Festival in São Paulo. I went with Vanessa Michelis, an artist from Belo Horizonte. At the same time, FILE (Electronic Language International Festival) was also occuring in São Paulo, so I went to a workshop there taught by Argentinian artist Jorge Crowe and the members of LaboCA from Recife, and I learned a bit about multiplexers, arduino and PD. Cristiano, Vanessa and I then traveled to Rio de Janeiro for hardware hacking and circuit bending workshops organized by Pontão da ECO. We also went to three consecutive concerts in Plano B, a great record store and experimental venue in Lapa. Christiano and Jorge played, Cristiano solo, and Cristiano and Vanessa.

After this, we traveled to Belo Horizonte for a few intense days of soldering before Azucrina Intersessões. (Soon some recordings)

Then, the members of PDObjetos, a Pure Data band that Vanessa is part of, trickled into Belo Horizonte from Rio de Janeiro. We all spent a few days at Marginalia Lab preparing. With fresh circuits and samples, we played at a concert called Tardes Tortas, in the north side of the city.

The next day, we realized that none of the recordings had worked for various reasons, and that gave us the excuse to organize an informal rooftop concert, which we had been talking about doing anyway. So we invited some friends, played some music, and used the opportunity to try to get a better recording.

Carou Araújo, a local video artist, filmed the events of the weekend. Afterward, Vanessa, Carou and I made a short video using the footage. Circuito Experimental, a good way to sum up three crazy weeks:
